Just when you thought the men's workwear trend couldn't possibly gain any more momentum Carhartt announces a brand-new store in Seattle. A “Pioneers of Rugged” grand opening celebration is set for this Thursday, March 22nd from 11am-2pm and the company is encouraging everyone to bring in their old Carhartt coats for the “Worn and Torn” contest. The winner of the most raggedy coat will win a new Carhartt jacket and other fun prizes. Former Mariner Edgar Martinez will be on hand to help Carhartt reps with the judging.
The new store will occupy over 4,000 square feet and carry apparel and accessories for men, women and children. In true Northwest fashion the store's interior features mostly reclaimed and repurposed materials from fallen timber and storm clean-up sites from around the Seattle-area. The new store marks Carhartt's fifth freestanding location in the U.S.
