Seattle's first infrared-focused wellness spa is now open in Madison Park. I did one of their signature sweats a few weeks ago and now I'm a believer. In fact, I lost over a pound of water weight during my first session and felt really good after sweating it out for the 55-minute session. It was a cold day in Seattle and the warm heat felt so good!
City Sweats offers a variety of spa services including their signature Far Infrared Sauna treatment, massages, Himalayan salt scrubs, lymphatic cleanses, and more. For newbies to this type of spa service, infrared light heat up the body and helps to open pores, release toxins and stimulate the immune system, allowing for deep detoxification. Sweat lodges have been around for hundreds of years as a means to purify and cleanse the body. City Sweats helps make this an accessible wellness regimen for city dwellers looking for an effective way to relax, unwind and ditch toxins. They even have mounted flat screen tv's so that you can watch a movie during your sweat session. I got to watch "The Hunger Games" during my session which definitely appealed to the nerdy, multi-tasker in me.

Starting at 1pm City Sweats will be offering tours of the spa, free massages, tonic shots, fresh juices, spa giveaways, a raffle, and an outdoor s'mores bar for the kids.
